Drop Shock Lanzarote vacation

Spain as a holiday destination enjoyed a good 2007, with islands like Menorca and Majorca doing very well - But all is not well in the Canaries Islands and apparently recently announced the official number of tourists.

The tourism department of the Spanish government has confirmed that the Canary Islands were the only region of Spain to see a drop in the number of tourists in 2007.

While Spain in general enjoyed a nearly 2 percent increase in the number of visitors, the Canary Islands had almost a quarter of a million less tourists compared to 2006. While not disputing figures, a tourism chief said that the Gran Canaria holiday period fall could have seen an increase in 2007 over 2006.

Different regions of Spain up to tourists for being unique. Data recently released from the Costa del Sol Tourism Observatory indicates that tourist spending increased in the last year in a remarkable 6 percent, showing that the hospitality industry in the Costa del Sol is thriving. The Costa del Sol tourist hopes to keep your business alive and well and stimulate tradition competition with its neighbor or the Costa Blanca, famous for the creation of a national symbol that will become synonymous with the region, much as the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, Big Ben in London or the Statue of Liberty is New York.

Currently, tourism officials are leaning toward the idea of a similar building and is in the process of inviting tenders and design plans of several multinational companies. It appears that the Costa del Sol may be looking for an attraction that gives it a Standing on the Costa Blanca when tourist traffic.

However, the Canary Islands have an advantage over mainland Spain, and in the case of competitor Spanish islands of Menorca and Majorca - and that is the climate.

2008 could see a real change for the Canaries Islands as its main market - the UK - has seen a record number of tourists fly abroad for Christmas and New Year. With both Lanzarote and Tenerife enjoys temperatures in the 70s, some fifteen degrees warmer than Majorca and the Costa del Sol - both islands the chance to win a good start for 2008.

Tenerife is known in the United Kingdom for its fabulous climate winter and attracts nearly three and a half million tourists a year to its scenic 2034 km square. While most of Tenerife Tourism from the United Kingdom, other visitors from Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Italy and France. The island is home to many beautiful resorts, including Playas de Las Americas and Los Cristianos. In fact, the recent legislation passed to ensure that any future resort construction must have a status five star or luxury resort offering golf and tennis facilities for banquets.

Tenerife Costa Adeje, the area that includes Las Americas and Los Cristianos provides opportunities for visitors both recreation and tourism. Outstanding shopping, 9 golf courses, restaurants, theme parks and a theater are often great features great musicals and of course the natural beauty of the sun and sand on the beautiful beaches of Tenerife all attractions that attract British tourists.

Meanwhile Lanzarote, the fourth largest of the Canary Islands, the hope of a boost in 2008 too. Lanzarote is quieter than Tenerife and tends to attract tourists who stay in villas, but there are a number of hotels.

Lanzarote is known for its picturesque volcanic landscapes. It may also equally well known for its futuristic and controlled development of the fauna and flora.

Lanzarote is home to more than 100,000 people and has its own international airport. The island depends on tourism and agriculture to maintain its economy. Millions of visitors each year enjoy the black sand beaches and a unique experience can only offer Lanzarote.

Both Tenerife and Lanzarote have to wait for a good British economy and British cold winter for 2008!
